Virtual Support Groups

At the Bright Spot Network, we’re here for you.

Parenting is hard enough. Add a cancer diagnosis to the mix? Parenting just got harder.

Bright Spot Network has virtual support groups for parents and caregivers who are going through cancer while raising young children.

Please join us and other parents in conversation to talk about the fears, challenges, and successful coping strategies associated with parenting through cancer treatment and survivorship. All virtual support groups are free.

Please email carissa@brightspotnetwork.org to RSVP or for more information.

FAQs

—Can my partner attend?

Thanks for asking! We have one group just for parents or caregivers who have cancer and a seperate group for partners.

—How old must my kids be for me to participate?

We primarily serve families with at least one young pre-school age child, including those who received a diagnosis during pregnancy. However, we welcome all who have had a personal experience with this, including those who may have had a diagnosis in the past and whose children may now be older.

—Is this group for people with a certain type of cancer?

Our groups are open to all parents and caregivers going through cancer, regardless of type, stage, or where you are in treatment/survivorship.

—Is this group only for parents currently in treatment, or can I participate if I was diagnosed and completed treatment already?

As noted above, this group is open to all parents and caregivers of small children, regardless of where you are in treatment or survivorship.

—Can I invite another parent or caregiver with cancer who has kids at home?

Yes, please do!

—Will this group be confidential?

Yes. Absolutely. And we won’t judge you for saying your kids are driving you crazy, either 😊
